89/240 brake light 200

my brakelight lens had about 1 inch of water in it and now engine is stalling. just noticed the water yesterday while checking the bulb that was out. Is still raining like hell here in memphis, but the car got me to work. am afraid I wont make it home. Mayday, Mayday! Is this a common thing with the 240s? Ive only had the car a year. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The stalling is most likely due to lousy ignition parts. Get a new cap and rotor at minimum; preferably replace the ignition wires as well. Plugs would be a good idea too since they're probably getting fouled due to misfires.

If the water in the taillight caused this, then no 240 sedan would ever run.

Drill a 1/16 hole up into the bottom outer corner to let the water drain out, then replace the bulb (its an 1157 bulb). Then start saving your pennies for a new taillight housing, which is the only real fix for this.
