Torque Setting 120-130 1969

Hi All,

Does anybody know if there is or what the torque setting should be for the six bolts that attach the front crossmember to the chassis on an Amazon?

Many Thanks
Brian

Thanks Fellas

I had a feeling it would be a 'grunt setting'!! I was/am more worried about tightening them too much and losing the captive nut inside then having them too loose. Though the thought of the suspension turning left when I'm turning right dosen't bear thinking about either come to think of it.

The bolts do have tab washers and I think I'll take your advice and use some thread glue for peace of mind.

Once again thanks for the advice. I find this site very helpful and always get prompt answers to these tricky questions.

Brian

As Matt states: As reasonable tight as you can! According to Volvo's manual (translated:) "...tighten the bolt proberly.."

Thats actually what it translates!...

Only - beware of using airtool! -too much torque could loosen a 30-40 year old welded nut INSIDE the frame..and THAT makes the job a hole lot unfun!

Do it good and by hand - instead of power - ad "glue" if you are unsure..

tight as you can get 'em with the biggest tools you got. You don't want them ones to come loose.

Torque specs are generally associated with the size and grade of the bolt involved... measure the shaft of the bolt and I'm sure you could find proper specs online somewheres
