V-8 conversion candidate on eBay 200 1984

It's a wagon, and the Diesel models had all the goodies that the GL's had. Power windows, leather, etc. The Diesel also has the heavier front springs that a V8 engine needs.

Have a look here:

You'll have to cut and paste. At some future time I will learn how to put in a link.

Happy Hunting.

That looks like a fairly decent wagon for the price. Actually, not all Diesels had the power windows and GL style wheels. I had a '84 Diesel sedan that I bought after the PO had overheated the engine (because of a leaking heater hose). Mine had the basic DL package with the crank windows and cloth seats. For a while, I thought of putting a B230FT. Does anyone actually have one of these Diesels that runs?

I was behind a Diesel 240 wagon on the freeway the other day.

Lots of real nice black smoke was coming out of the back of the thing.

Yes I drive one.

It's a '92 diesel GL with 120000 miles on it.
No engine problems except for a minute leak in the head cover gasket.

It does accelerate slowly but once you're going it's an excellent car to drive, we get about 7litres/100 km that would be (about) 31-35 miles/gallon.
And I find it's no trouble whatsoever to drive allong in traffic.

It's a niche group, but they do exist. My pal Bob has a completely overhauled one. I've driven it. Yes, it's slow, but it's a great highway cruiser, and can get 35 mpg if you take it easy.
