Shift Lock Problems 200

Please help!! My 1991 240 has been doing odd things. First thing in the morning I have to unlock the shifter by hand (finger down in the works) after that it works right the rest of the day. This makes no sense at all to me. Maybe someone out there can point me in the right direction. Thans in advance.

Dan

    Shift Lock Problems 200

Before delving into the shifter to replace the solenoid, be sure the fuses are good and making good contact. One also works the A/C, so you can look for the snowflake to light up. The other also works the brake lights. This fuse gets a good workout, flexing every time you step on the brakes, until eventually it cracks in the middle, separating enough to keep it from working when cold.
