Yep! I'm thinking of selling the Volvo for 2500$.
What do you get?
A funkey old Volvo 145 (1972) that has
a built motor complete with Duel Webber carbs,
IPD torque cam, Isky lifters, pushrods, double valve springs,
Ported head with 3 angle valve job,
headder (ceramic coated)
Electronic ignition with MSD,
Heavy duty motor mounts,
Progressive rate springs, Koni shocks, new bushings,
new ball joints, IPD sway bars.
Turbo Volvo rims 15X6.5 with 205/60/15 Yokohama ES110
4 speed with electronic overdrive (flip the switch and you get fith gear)
Class 2 squair receiver hitch to pull stuff.
Hella H4 headlights with 90/100 bulbs
Air Horn
Megasquirt EFI system almost finished, I have all the parts.
Price is firm since there is soo much in this car.
The stereo does not come with the car, sorry
There is rust in the rear fenders and some around the turn signals, However
This car spent most of it's life out west (Denver) so everything comes apart EZ.
There is NO rust on the inner fender wells where the fenders bolt on and the floors
are very solid.

The rust around the rear fenders is in the outer layer. the rust doesn't appear to be in the inner fender well. there would need to be a patch on the rocker near the real fenders. If you look up rust repair panels at Swedish Treasures I think he wheel arch and dog leg patch would do it.

The head is a carb head. It has hardened exhaust valve seats and a 3 angle valve job. Bronze valve guides. I modified the spring seat areas on a cnc machine to accept the larger IPD double valve springs. I mainly ported the intake and exhaust ports in the valve guide and valve seat area since the cam (IPD torque performance cam) is not radicle enough to benefit making the ports near the manifolds much bigger, however they have been cleaned up as well.

The block has .40 over pistons, Isky lifters and push-rods. the block was cleaned and hot tanked with all oil and freeze plugs removed. the rods were resized, balanced and shot peened. the crank was turned .10 on the rod journals and balanced with the flywheel and crank pulley. IPD oil pump with retaining ring. B18 mechanical advance distributor with Crane electronic ignition and a MSD 6AL.

Those are the only pictures I have for now but a few people have asked for pictures of the rust specifically. I sprained my foot a few days back but I'll try to get out there at some point and snap a few.

No offense Harv, but... I reckon you're nuts. 318i's are a dime a dozen, but a good fast 145 is, as you know, getting rare. If I was in your area, and didn't already have a similar spec 145, I'd buy it from you for sure.

I've got a good bit more than that in mine, and I didn't even pay to build the motor... I got mine on trade.

Good luck if you do sell... hope it goes to an appreciative new owner!

Ah... I see. Sorry to hear you missed out on it. I've never been very familiar with teh E30 Bimmers, but could definitely be tempted by a good 5spd 325ix of similar vintage... albeit probably a nightmare for parts/maintenance being the relative oddball of the family. But thats why I like 'em I guess....

Cool. And so are those 1991 318is'. Basically the best E30 short of the 87 325is and the M3. Lovely cars, i was going to get an e30(or a 92-94 Nissan Maxima SE 5spd...) before, but something else popped up in my life... =D
