How does the clip install in my 88 240 battery to the try. It came out realy easily, but I cant figure out how it goes back in. I feel kind of dumb! A picuture might help.

There is a lip on the rear side of the tray, you must get the locking ledge of the battery under the lip of the tray. You then slide the battery to the outboard side of the car and install the plastic lock on the forward side of the tray.

I assume you mean the glass reinforced plastic battery tray. (I found out it
was glass reinforced the hard way....)

If I remember correctly after installing one in my daughter's newfangled 245
(1980) and considering it to be a GREAT tray, you move the battery to the
outboard end of the tray and put the locking device on bottom first with
the little finger against the edge of the battery BUT where it can come
down into one of the notches. Then you just rock the finger forward/inward
and down, and the device snaps neatly into the notch.
I know this description is hard to follow but if you try it I think it will
work.
