Did the B21 (1976-1982) and B23 (1983-1984) use interchangable oil pans, or are they unique to each motor?

    the oil pan and pump was changed in 81 to get better supply during cornering. the 80/earlier had a flat sump whereas the 81-ups have the distinct bulge on the driver's side. you may be able to use a later pan with an early pump, but no way can you use an early pan with a later pump. if you change both pan and pump, no problem. good luck, chuck.
