Painting wheel hubs, brake calipers 200

I just put a set of 16" Hydras on my 89 245. Now, I'd like to paint the wheel hubs and brake calipers. Any advice on what and what not to paint, and what kind of paint to use?

Thanks

I painted my calipers bright yellow after installing Turbo wheels.. Got the paint from local parts store.(May have been Krylon Caliper paint) It is made just for calipers. Make sure you clean them real well first. As on the other post, do not paint the pads or any parts area that the pads slide on.

I did this on both my 240's.

I used the silver POR 20 high temp on the calipers and hubs. Just don't paint the pads, pins or bleeder nipples! I stayed with the silver as a matter of personal taste. However there are also hight temp caliper paints in brighter colors of course.

Wheels are the focal point of a car. There's nothing worse than seeing a rusty old hub through a nice wheel!

Eastwood COmpany has some excellent detailing and restoration coatings. They're a great resource for auto repair and upgrading (and no, I don't work for them, just want everything they sell.)

Look under Specialty Coatings -> Wheel and Suspension -> Brakes

As with anything, surface prep is going to dictate success. If your calipers and rotors are already rusty, greasy and packed with brake dust, a good deal of cleaning, possibly off the car, will be required. I think it would be easier to buy a new pair of rotors at least, the labor involved will more than make up for the expense.
