Odometer not working, all gears ok. 200 1988

Hi guys,

my odometer has just stopped at about 365k km :( After reading 700/900 FAQ and numerous BB posts I took the speedo apart two times already and found all gears in superb condition, no single broken tooth. I tried to turn counter manually, everything ok, nothing stuck, trip odo moves with total one. Speedometer works too. But when installed, no movement at all.

What can I do now? If it's printed circuit board, how do I test it?

BTW, my '88 has '89 instrument cluster (if that matters).

It would be really nice to see my odo running again.

I've had this problem with my odo for a few years now, and have never figured it out. I think it's a problem SOMEWHERE with wiring, but I don't really know where to find the wiring to fix. In my car, I hooked up a bicycle computer for an accurate odometer, which works great most of the time. It took a decent bit of work to fabricate the sensor mount and magnet though. Not too bad, overall. Anyways, if you figure out what's wrong, I'm very interested.

Do both speedo and odometer get pulses from common source? (3-contact connector) Or is there something else there that could explain, why speedo is ok and odometer is not?
