My 88 Volvo 740 GlE with B230F engine stalling when ever she wants ..problem kinda solved.. 700

Hi Brickboard members,
soem of u might know i had a problem with my car. She sometimes quit running with the tach needle showing 0rpms and then jumping to 2500rpms. and dying on me.. sometimes it cranked rite up like nothing wrong with it..sometimes i had to wait 5 mins for her to start up.. she has 150.000 miles on her and i changed the fuel pump relay, knock sensor, radio susp. relay, electronic ign module.. and she acted the same.. when i checked the hallsensor on the dist. housing it was hanging down bad.. So i ordered the plastic booth goes there and new set of o rings for the dist.. I changed it and she runs lot more better.. no stalling what so ever... i am so haapy with that and i wish i changed the booth before evething else.. I could have saved at least 100.00$ on parts.. now she idles around 700-850 rpms and she used to idle at 1000 rpms before...
If anybody has same symptoms pls read this and hopefully u will save some money on parts..
Thank u for ur hel[p brickboard members..

My 88 Volvo 740 GLE with B230F engine stalling when ever she wants ..problem kinda solved.. 700 1988

I replaced the distributor in my wife's 88 744GLE 2 years ago. Same symptoms, same repair, same result. It's definitely the first place to look for an intermittent stall on these cars. 1988 is the last year to use this style distributor and fuel injection- the 1989 cars received LH2.4 with the crank-triggered system, and a whole different batch of problems.
