Occasionally I see a post on here asking about sound deadening to help quiet the inside of your car. Just want you to know a few things I've come across the last few days. I found some stuff called "Brown Bread" from a place called Be-quiet or B-quiet. It looks and works like Dynamat. It's about 1/3 to 1/2 the price of Dynamat. Even cheaper than that is some stuff caled "Peel and Seal". This looks alot like Dynamat, etc., and can be purchased at Lowe's Home Improvement Stores. It's about a dollar a square foot. It's actually used for roofing applications. I've already put some in my doors and in parts of my trunk, and it seems to work pretty well. You can look at "Caraudioforum" or just do a Google search for "Peel and Seal". You should be able to find plenty of comments about it, many pro and a few con. Also I found a website for a place called WLS Headliners (do a Google search) that carries 1/2" carpet felt (underpadding). They sell it in 3 foot lengths (72" wide) for $6.50. This is about 35 cents a square foot. Like I said, check out some of the comments on various websites and form your own opinions about this stuff. I just thought I'd offer this info up as some cheap alternatives to Dynamat.
