Air Conditioning Blowing warm 900 1995

My a/c does not seem to blow cool all of a sudden. When I push the snowflake, it seems not to draw that extra power from the car so I popped the hood and it looks like the part attached to one of the belts under what I think is my alternator is turning sporaticly. Is this part my compressor? It has a triangular plate on it with a bolt in each triangle and is attached to a belt. It cycles/spins for about two seconds and then stops and then does it again?

Any advice on this subject and how to, or worth, repairing is always greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tadd

What's happening is your low press sensor is kicking your compressor on and off. When it spins the compressor,it is drawing down the low side pressure to below the cut out point. When it stops the pressure builds back up on the low side to where the low pressure switch is happy and allows the clutch on the compressor to kick in until the compressor draws down the pressure and the low pressure sensor opens the clutch circuit again, over and over again. You more than likely have developed a leak in your a/c system and are loosing refig. If it isn't the compressor then your tearing up the clutch.
