Hi,
Car is 1990 240 non turbo. 133000 mi.
My car pased co, and hc with flying colors, but nox was up in the stratosphere(2100). Will a failed egr vacuum solenoid account for such a high rise. Or should I expect something else.The egr valve is functional, there is vacuum, but its not passing through the solenoid.
I wired my hot air door closed awhile ago so that shouldnt be a problem.
My timing is dead on at about 12degree.
My engine temp guage says the engine temp stays withing the proper range.
I do, however, keep getting a lean air code.
What Im wondering is will replacing the solenoid get me pass smog?

Any advice accepted.

    New solenoid is probably a dealer item, although junkyards should have them in abundance.
