Greetings all,
I've been reading the brickboard for about sixteen months now, and have learned quite a bit about my 240 in the process. I'm not a mechanic by any means, but I have been able to do little things like fix my temp compensator board, clean my flame trap, fix my failed OD relay, etc. with the help of previous posts on the board -- it's an amazing resource. Anyway, this is the first time I'm posting something because I have not been able to track down a post dealing with a similar problem. There's a sound coming from my car that can only be described as a "chicka-chicka" sound.. it really does sound like an old locomotive. It gets faster and faster as I accelerate but it's really noticable when I'm coasting into a parking lot. It sounds like something is rattling around once every wheel revolution. The thing is, it stops as soon as I apply the break. But once I let off of it, it resumes. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about what it could be, I doubt I have the means to fix it myself but I would like to have a general diagnosis possibility before I take it to the shop. Thanks!
