And, whatever their color, what diameter of wire did those R-sport 242GT springs have?

    No, they look normal and just a few 1/100 ths thicker. You can figure out a gauge based on a nearby 240. Few '78's have them and I saw a '79 that lacked them this weekend, although it had strut plates.
