'They don't write songs about Volvos' 1800

Recently I typed in "songs about volvos" into google. Instead of learning about some songs about our beloved little cars I pulled up a bunch of Chevy sites tellin of a billboard in Chevrolet's home town of Warren, Michigan, placed just in time for the Woodward Dream Cruise, that said said succinctly: "They don't write songs about Volvos." I'm honestly a little upset that the people at Chevy would advertise such an unthoughtfull and untrue thing. I can think of about four songs about Volvos right off the top of my head, how many can you think of?

'Volvo' by Buzzkill

'Volvo' by Virgil Shaw

'Volvo' by Joe Faulder

'Volvo' Party by The Majesticons

'Volvo Driving Soccer Mom' by Everclear

'Your Brand New Swedish Volvo' by Super 8 Cum Shot

'El Volvo' by El Chombo

'59 Volvo' by The Medallions

An album named "Volvo Driving" by Everclear

And I think there's a song out there about 122 Amazons that pretty funny, it even mentions those damn SUs. Can't remember the band.

Quite a few Swedish groups have made Volvo-related songs. Then there's the San Fransisco-based all-female punk rock band named Fabulous Disaster who has a song about rich Volvo-driving bastards, I forget the title. And you've got the group Volvo Maroon (hit song: Furious Moose of the Wilderness).

While on the subject, let's not forget movies: "101 Ways (The Things a Girl Will Do to Keep Her Volvo)" - available on DVD. Or books: "Don't Look at Girls Who Drive Volvo Station Wagons" by the Chamberlains. What is it with girls and Volvos anyway?

Erling.

Not about volvos really but Guy Clark mentions a dog that learned to drive a volvo... in a song on the "Dublin Blues" CD... only CD I have ever owned that I really liked every song on it...

The one that sticks in my mind is the "Old Volvo" song by
Tom Demarest. It is available on CD for about a dollar plus postage.
He also has a nice CD of Christian music that I have really enjoyed.

As I recall (and it has been some 50 years ago) the Everclear they sell in
liquor stores around here is 188 proof, which oughta be pretty clean but it
will certainly make people who drink it get themselves dirty!
