Ordered rear bushings today ... 200

from FCP Groton. Poly rear RTAs, poly torque rods (I played with
my car's rods and they felt pretty loose), rubber panhard rod bushes,
and rubber front RTAs - the poly bushes required removing a welded
bracket on the car's body. Total cost: $133 incl. shipping. The poly
bushings are SuperPro and the others are MTC brand, not ScanTech.

I'll still need to buy a set of jackstands and borrow a floor jack
from my neighbor. Should I lube the poly bushings with anything
before I install them, or are they better off dry?

The rear shocks were replaced a year and 1/2 ago by the PO, so I
don't think that I'll need new ones. I might get new ones after
the bushing job is done and when I do swaybars.

If anyone has any other suggestions...

Thanks in advance,
-b.

Which bushings? Which bracket? This seems a bit extreme. How do you put it back together with the bracket gone?

This bracket guides the steel casing to the older rubber bushings... with the poly in this place, it doesn't use the outside shell anymore and doesn't need that bracket. This is for the front trailing arm bushing. (small one)

    See http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=782418
for the post about removing the bracket. If I ever have to replace
the bushings again, I want to be able to choose to use the stock
items in case the SuperPros aren't available (supply tends to be
    spotty in the US).

What welded bracket are you referring to? 200

I also have the full rear set (with poly) waiting to go in. The full set was $86 + shipping. I heard that freezing the poly overnite and then greasing it with the provided grease will make the install go smooth (the grease also prevents wear of the poly bushing). People have done it wothout a press. As for the panhard ones, I am not sure if you need a proess or not. I will find out soon enough. In the past I have frozen bushings before installing them. A little bitta PBlaster also helps.

    Cheers,
    Raj
