Voltmeter question 200 1990

Hi,

I have a few questions so bear with me. I checked the archives and to my knowledge, I couldn't find answers.

I'm looking to buy a volt. gauge for my 240DL wagon (1990) to fit in one of the slots to the left of the radio. I'm in the process of putting in an Oil Pressure gauge (already got the sender and adapter bushings from egauges) and want to fill that extra gap. Rather than buying the factory one, does anyone have any suggestions on some volt. gauges from egauges.com that would work well for me and that are similar to the factory gauge? (Just for reference, does anyone know the diameter of the factory gauge so if I happen to buy one from egauges, it will fit the hole.)

Also, can someone send me a link (or type it out, whichever works) regarding installation for the volt. gauge? I'm pretty sure it was somewhere in the archives but I haven't been able to re-locate it. Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Steve

Volt Gauges on ebay are fairly cheap and you can find a 3-gauge cluster for under 20 bucks sometimes. Just do not get carried away with any bids you place. Remember although you may want the gauges badly they are still used, boneyard parts so bid accordingly. The last time I grabbed gauges at the boneyard I think I paid $50 for 10 gauges. I got a good mix too as you can see below...

and I have a bunch left over for my other car (84 245). You best bet is the boneyards. Everywhere you look you see volts, turbo, and oil pressure gauges. Good Luck!

For a while until I found a Volvo volt gauge. I used one that I bought at Walmart and it was almost an exact diameter. Worked very well for muchy less than a VDO. Keep an eye on E-Bay for the Volvo gauges.

Just use the VDO gauge that matches the oil pressure gauge face. The diameter should be something like two and a sixteenth or 52mm.

Voltometer should be a pretty easy install.

Just tap a positive wire somewhere. Maybe the one going into the radio/cigarette lighter, for example.

Ground wire goes anywhere on the frame of the car.
