front speaker placement 120-130

Hello I need suggestions on front speaker placement, what has worked well for you? Before sugesting the A-pillar kick panel(under dash in front of door), this area is not available in my 122, I installed poor-mans ac(a good thing to do, cheap and effective), IE: vents from a 240, great ventilation vithe the rear windows opened. I would like to keeep the door pockets, they are usefull to me as I work on the road, and my car is my office, warehouse, manufacturing facility, ect ect....

Merci

Spring is finally here, the grass can be seen!!!

An easy spot on the passenger side: mount it on the backside of the "glove shelf" under the dash. This seems to have been done by the factory, as I found one mounted this way in a parts car. No solution for driver's side though, I don't have a stereo!

FYI, the original front speaker placement location was to attach it to the back plate of the glove shelf (under front dash, passenger side). As an option in the sedan, you could install a back seat speaker over the rear shelf (cutout is under rear window glass in the center). Of course, all this was before stereo was available in cars...

In the 220 wagon we mounted six inch round speakers under the dash. Used some metal plummers tape to fabricate some simple brackets. Sounds great and cannot be seen through the window by would be thieves. Just measure carefully on the drivers side to make sure you do not block the choke mechanism.

Yes, For photographic purposes I removed the shield in front of the vent. The shield also protects from water on wet roads. The shiel is just a flat piece in front of the vent. Also the vent could be installed backwards(opening twords the rear) as air pressur inside the fender is sufficent to force air into the vent. In the 240 I forget the orientation of the vent.

Merci

Yvan,

Could you make a picture of this vent system you've converted by chance? Sounds interesting.

Merci,
