Got a some B&G springs for my sedan. They are described as a progressive spring. The rears have a progressive winding and the fronts look to have a linear. Does this mean the rears are progressive and the fronts linear? Does anyone know if the Eurosports are the same?

I have been under the impression that "progressive" springs had more to do with coil thickness, and its effect on rate, than the distance between coils. I will have to do some research so that I can be better informed.
My experience with progressive springs comes from the one's I have on my ride. Also, they are the only set I have ever put on a car. The TMEs I purchased did not appear to have an unequal distance between coils -at least, that I could notice visually... I may be wrong however.
When I installed them, I failed to notice this subtlety...

If you can't measure the thickness of the fronts with a micrometer then you will have to go by eye... which you have already noted. Are they advertised as such, it would seem from your description that "progressive" windings are what you have? The fronts must be thicker due to the differences in weight/load from front to back. Language, however, is a funny thing.
As obvious as this sounds, call B&G and ask them -even though I am sure someone here on the BrickBoard will give you the information you need.
In an aside, and the real reason for the response other than the fact I think you are another cool Volvo owner, I am curious as to what you think about the BGs you purchased: how your ride looks, how much lower in the front & rear, ride quality (on Bilsteins?), the fit, etc.? I have heard good things about those particular springs and would like to know your experience.
Are they a sedan or wagon set? I am running a TME wagon set-up in my sedan... I love the ride, very firm on Bilies, but plan to remove 1/2 to 1 full coil in the rear for aesthetics.
Peace, Jon

I have had the B&G's on my car for over a year now. They have been great performers coupled with my softer Boge Turbo's. Very progressive in fact.
The look was exactly what I wanted, not to low, but just enought to give a nice agressive look...

did you get the Wagon specfic springs? The Sedan B&G's I just got have closer coil spacing on 1 side on just the rears. The fronts look like a linear wind. Is this how yours where? How's the ride?

Shox.com is where I purchased them from, and to be honest, I don't recall them being wagon specific, but something in the back of my head says they were.
The difference in the springs was front to back, no side to side difference.
The ride is great, they set up really nicely under heavy cornering load, handle the small bumps nicely, not to bumpy, but just enough to know you don't have stock springs in.

The progressive windings in the rear I noted by the coils on one side of the springs being closer together than the other side rather then the coil thickness. In the front the windings are the same distance apart. The springs are Sedan and look great. The red epoxy paint job is awesome. The springs haven't been installed yet. When I finish my Wagon's suspension it will registered and then I'll work on the Sedan. I bought them based on positive opinions on the Turbobricks message board. To make a long story short went over to planetperformance.com to check them out and found a blow out sale on Bilsteins HD's ($320 for a full set) After just paying $370 for a set for my Wagon I had to jump on the deal for my Sedan. Well the guy was a great salesman and offered me free shipping on the springs if I bought them that day.($210 free shipping) Both B&G and Eurosport(SAM) springs are Lesjofors. Eurosport used to sell B&G but now claim to carry the SAM spec'd Lesjofors which they say are slightly stiffer. Same great red epoxy paint. On sale for $200 I think to end of month. I may hold off on lowering springs for the Wagon for a bit. Strut assembly is allready in plus it may become my winter car. I think I'll try them on the Sedan first. Ordered a set of 1979 GT strut plate's from the dealer for $40 delivered.
