Inertia switch 200 1986

I was curious as to wether or not volvo installed inertia switches on the fuel systems to shut off the fuel in case of an accident? If so, where might I find this device installed on my 86 245DL wagon.

thanks
Andrew Gyger

No, there is no inertia switch fitted.
Volvo uses a system which senses engine rotation via the ignition system which turns off the pump if the engine stops turning, even if the ignition is still on.

This sensing is done by the ECU on L Jet systems, and by the fuel pump relay on K Jet systems.
