B234 Head swap? 700 1989

I was wondering if I could use an 8 valve head on a 16 valve 740 motor. I just bent 8 of the 16 valves thanks to a bad timing belt. Any advice?
Thanks,
Chris

I've got a used 16v head for sale if you're interested. No bent valves.

By the way, the B234F manifolds won't fit the 8v head because the ports are oval on the 16v and round on the 8v. There are other differences as well, such as the t-belt tensioner. It's on the b234f block for the 16v engine, and it's on the 8v head too, so you'd have to pick one and figure out how to fit a belt (don't know if a 8v belt would fit).

Just thinking... I have a head with only 6 bent valves so together we have 18 good valves . Probably need some valveguides too since they usually crack when the valves bend. If you decide to get another head I would be interested in the one you have. I would even have 2 spare valves then !
Does anybody else out there have a head with bent valves that they want to get rid of?

I think (though I am not entirely sure) that the problem is that the exhaust manifold is different between the two heads and I have heard that it is quite a job to start changing those parts. I would recommend either finding a new head or a new car.
