Mudflaps: Are 900 & 700 mudflaps interchangeable? 900

Dear Fellow Brickboarders,

May this find you well. Are rear mudflaps for 700 series cars and 900 series cars interchangeable? If so, please confirm. If not, please explain the difference(s).

Thanks very much for your help.

Yours faithfuly,

spook

Well, it depends on which style you're talking about. My 745T has the molded, hard plastic Volvo mudguards and to the best of my knowledge they will fit on any 945 as well (I *believe* some of the 944s had different rear bumpers). As for the rubber, flexable, rear mudguards from the older 700's....I *think* they will work on a 940 if you have the mounting bracket to go with them. Personally, I would only go with the molded mudguards as they fit perfectly, look good, and protect the car much better then the older style mudguards. I hope this helps! I wish I had a good pic of them on the my Vo for you....There's a good pic of the rear ones on Volvoworld.com.

I'm waiting with you on this one spook! I've spied a couple of Volvos in the bone yard with mud flaps (really aspired to the ones on the old 145 wagons, black with big white lettering, sigh!) that may become mudflapless soon. I'd like a nice set on the abnormally aspirated 945.

    Sincerely, waiting and watching,

    JB
