ECU interchangeability 200

Hi

I have a short question concernig the ECU interchangebility in a 1989 245 with B230F engine.

The current ECU has the ID code "028000 561". The other one has the code "028000 951". Are these two ECU boxes interchangeable or will there be any kind of problems if I put the new one in? Moreover, does anybody know the difference between these two types of ECUŽs?

    There is no risk or uncertainty. The 951 is the improved 561. The 572 is for the California emissions 50 states legal car as stated below. I pulled a 0 280 000 571 out of an '89 740 non-turbo today and it seems to run the 91 245 (951 or 561) pretty well. I have never seen a 571 before and I have seen a lot of Bosch ECUs in Volvos.

    Yes, they are interchangeable. The 951 is an "upgrade". You will probably get the details in other posts later.

    My 1990 with LH2.4 no/EGR is ECU# 028 000 561. My 1990 with LH3.1 no/EGR is ECU # 0280 000 572. not sure about the 951.
