Brake piston stuck 'out' 200

Just replacing front brake pads, one piston is stuck out; the other three all pushed back normally with average pressure. I've levered as much as I dare on the rotor/caliper but it appears stuck fast. Pad wear was normal/even, so I don't think it's been this way for long.

Any tips?

The way it is supposed to be fixed is you rebuild the caliper. The reason the piston is stuck is a bunch of rust has built up on the piston and the bore. That would be from the dust boot being torn. So blowing PB Whatever and exercising it is a backyarders job. Do it right cause its brakes.

I do and they worg great!

Your piston might have gotten slightly cocked in the cylinder and is
hing up because of that. They sometimes do that when you try to push them
back in. You might eyeball it closely and see if the end of the piston
seems to be level or if one side might be high. If so, try pushing the
high side down first. (Sometimes doing this I have cocked them the other
way!) Also the idea of pushing it further out may be a good one, although
I like to have something under it when I do that, like an old pad with no
    friction material on it.

    Hello,

Take the cap off the master cyl so the fluid and air in there have somewhere to go. After that if it still doesn't move, use a c-clamp and wind in the piston. Exercise it a couple of times to get it freed up.

If not, You're in for a caliper replacement.

Maybe not,I have been successful pushing the piston out a little more then lubing it with PB Blaster.Without the pad in step on the pedal and the piston comes out so you can see it.Douse the rusted piston then work it in and out.Clean the caliper and rotor good with brake cleaner after.I usually need to do at least one in the spring after all the salt and road grime.
I think George'Walrus'Downs has the original calipers on his '69 164.

That is inherently what I meant, and I have also the original calipers on both my bricks :-))))
