Stupid Mistake - Please Help!

I needed to replace the heat control valve and I crushed (almost closed) the upper, copper connector (tube) coming out of the firewall from the heater core.

Please help with any ideas to get it back to its proper shape.

Thanks

Use some long-nose pliers inside the pipe to gently force the tube back into a near-round shape, then do as Don suggested. When you put the hose back on, use pipe dope on the pipe to seal any minor leaks.

Thanks men. I will do both.

I learn something new with my brick every day.

You can often squeeze it with pliers to reopen it, but this often results in a squarish shape instead of round.

Then you can try forcing increasingly larger sockets into the squarish opening to make it approximately round.

Note that it doesn't need to be perfectly round for the hose to achiece a decent grip and seal around it.
