240 Carbureted? 200

This may be a stupid question...Is there any way to slap SU's or Weber D.C.O.E.'s onto a B230 from a '93 240? Would there be any performance advantage? Anyone ever do this?

240 Carbureted? 200

Carbureted RWD Volvos were common in countries other than the USA, including the base level 240 in Canada for many years. No performance or economy advantage except for lower-tech maintenance. Used parts are relatively common here in Canada.

For a high-performance application, check the front-page car at www.turbobricks.org.

Fuel injection is better, more effecient, and more horsepower. 200

I wouldn't put a carb on a 240 if it originally came with fuel injection. You'll get better performance and fuel economy out of a fuel injection system (asssuming you keep up basic maintenance, like filters, fluids, and the occasional 02 sensor, AMM, and FPR).

As for your car, there are a lot of people out there (including myself) who would love to have a late model 240 due to the improvments that have been made over the years. Putting a carburetor on that engine would be taking a step backwards.

If you really want to have a carburetored 240, I will go to Canada, buy one for you, and drive it to your door. -in exchange for your USA Market '93 240.

God bless and enjoy your late model 240.
Fitz Fitzgerald.
