The RR power window in my 89 240 will go down great with the drivers switch. It won't go up...it used to, real slow, now it won't budge, I cant' pull it by hand either. The door switch does nothing...unless I have the lock turned on by mistake.

What does it sound like, wires, switch, motor? Motor seem great going down, nothing doing going up. I am about to check Bentley and others, then I will tear into it, any help would be appreciated.

Once you have the switch out work on a old bed sheet, or little things tend to spring away and get lost... other wise the other posters I agree with... Mac

The motor's fine. (Up is the same as down except the polarity of the current is reversed to reverse direction.)

Clean the switch in the RR door and also the driver's RR switch. (The power goes through the driver's RR switch before going to the RR door switch.)

Disassemble carefully -- the little spring and ball can "escape."

Clean out all gunk and clean the switch electrical contacts. I like to use a pencil eraser to scrub the contacts.

Be sure all foreign material is removed before reassembling the switch.

Reassemble the switch, and use a dab of vaseline on the spring to hold it in place and another dab of vaseline to "glue" the ball to the top of the spring.

Thanks everyone...inspired by you guys, I did take a little electrical cleaning spray to the switches, it allowed me to ge the window up, though a good tear down is needed.

It sounds like the switch. They get gunked and stop working. It is very common on these vehicles. If you take the handle off, the switch comes right off. Disconnect the wires and take the switch apart in a box or something. There is a little ball bearing that can get legs and roll away. It is a quick fix and easy.
