Time for my baby to find someone new to be loved by... 200 1990

Well after nearly 2 years and 30,000 miles it's time for my silver 240 to find a new home. She still runs well, but with all of the commuting I'm doing I went for something with better fuel economy. Not that I could ever complain about the 23-26mpg I've gotten, but 36mpg helps.
Now I don't want this car to just go to the scrap yard if it can be avoided, however I have a limited time to find a new home for it. This is a nice grey (blue cloth interior) 1990 240 w/ 200k (nothing for a brick, i know!) AT, etc. There will be some work needed a few thousand miles down the road - a brake job, some bushing replacements, and possibly a rear main engine seal (it's weeping slightly right now, but not losing much oil). This work isn't much of an investment and the car will be good to go for a while. The heat and a/c have never left me in discomfort no matter how extreme the season. I'm the third owner of this car and all of us have regularly maintained it, most of the 200k is highway.
If you think you might have interest in this vehicle please let me know. I'm in southeastern MA.

Hey, don't let Foster spoof you, he has more $$$ than a Jewish Bank.

This was an unkind cut..... 200 1990

For the past 6+ years Don Foster has been a wealth of info, and has never been anything but helpful to even the most naive newbie on the brickboard.

On the other hand, I do not know you nor have I read any of your helpful advice (nothing that stands out in my mind, anyway)

While you may know Don, or you may perceive this to be a humourous jibe, why not wish the best for both parties.

The seller wants to solve his dilema. The buyer is gathering info.

What gives you the idea that DF would "spoof" anyone?????

In 6+ years of reading this board - I have NEVER had anyone even slightly criticize DF's character.

I hope he gets a great deal, and that the seller is satisfied with the price.

I am not angry at you - just puzzled as to why you feel the need to interfere with the negotiations and to "warn" the seller.

Shame on you!!!!

And if DF is "loaded" why would that mean that he is forbidden from negotiating a bargain.

Maybe you meant no insult - but I may not be the only one to take exception to your comments.

If you meant no harm, then let us know - we are a quick to forgive bunch out here in the boondocks - heck we'll even he'p ya pick the buckshot out of your behind, so's you kin set a spell and have suppa' wid us !!!

Over here at the seashore 200 1990

Just a bit to the east of you we call it New Hampster. The place where you drive with your lights off in the pouring rain. Damn. I came real close to cutting a Cherokee in half yesterday morning. Ain't friendly to treat visiters that way, eh?

A little more info...
The only "blemish" on this car is a bit of damage (from a previous owner) on the front right quarter panel. It would be easy to fix if you were to desire, however I left it alone as it did no harm to the vehicle and made it a less desirable mark in some of the less savory areas I've had to drive/park in. The inside is extremely clean. No nicks, cuts or tears in the upholstry, carpetting or anywhere. One tiny crack in the dash (very minor compared to what my 740 used to have). Spare is in good shape.
I'm hoping to get around $1k for it (I was able to get some estimates for its value and looked around at other vehicles like it). This is decreased to account for the work it will need. It would be a bargain for someone who does their own work as my cost estimates for the work are based on my mechanic. He's a great guy and I'd be happy to refer anyone to him if you need someone to do the work. I presently have a 6disc alpine fm-modulated changer installed in it, which I would be willing to leave there for an added $150 on the price (the unit sells for around $250 + tax and installation).
If you want to talk more please drop me an email or send me your phone number and I will be happy to discuss it further.

Now see, I think that's just rude for a lot of reasons.

First, there's a classified forum on the brickboard. If you've got
something you want to sell, that seems like the appropriate place for it.

Next, you say you don't want it to go to the junkyard. What junkyard
would pay you $1k for a car?

Yes, a car that runs and passes a safety inspection is easily worth $1k.
However, see the first thing. Then, check out the various *free* online
classified ads (like craigslist, autotrader, and yahoo + excite).

However, if nobody wanted to pay $1000 for your car, there very well may
be a reason for that.

I almost feel bad jumping up and down about this. But then I went thru
your posts. For the past two or three months the only things you've
posted are related to selling your car.
