I'm converting my antifreeze to the G-05 Glysantin (Zerex brand). How long should this stuff last in a volvo? Their technical bulletin calls it a long life hybrid. I've heard lots of good things about it but not a lifespan. I asked Zerex and got a reply to change it as the car manufacturer recommends. Is this accurarte or just a standard legal reply?

    Hard to say, since nobody can predict what the interaction between the coolant and whatever is in your system will be. Texaco (maker of Dexcool, a similar carboxylate package but lacking silicates) notes that converted systems should be changed every two years; OEM install of Dexcool lasts five years.
