Turbo Make Confusion - Garrett or Mitsubishi? 700 1989

According to Bill's Volvo Information Page (http://billgarland.mcmaster.ca/volvo/volvohome.htm) my '89 740 Turbo Wagon has a Garrett T3 intercooled turbo. I am looking for a replacement of my AMM to Turbo hose - it leaks right where the hose to the breather nipple connects to it. I want to make sure I am buying the right hose, since these guys are so expensive. So I was looking at Importec's Online catalog (http://www.importeccatalog.com/) where they list hoses for both Mitsubishi as well as Garrett turbos. The point where I get confused is where the picture for the Mitsubishi turbo looks just like mine, while the Garrett turbo hose has, what seems like a large plastic piece inserted into the rubber where the breather hose attaches. Is this just the way this specific manufacturer makes the Garrett hose, or is this standard OEM practice? Do I indeed have a Garrett turbo like Bill claims?
On a different note, I have been reading in forum posts and in the FAQ that good quality duct tape can really take care of a small leak in a Turbo rubber hose. I was wondering what brickboarder's experience was regarding this.

Your car came with either the Garrett T3 or the Mitshbishi TD05. If you go to the Turbo spotter's guide in the 700/900 FAQ, you will find information to determine which turbo you have.

If you still have questions, reply to this post and I will help you.

Based on the FAQ you linked to it seems I have the Mitsubishi turbo. One more reason to think so -and I am not sure if this is valid or not - is the fact at my AMM to Turbo hose has only one mid-hose outlet (to the crankcase ventilation hose-to-nipple), whereas the Garrett AMM-to-Turbo hoses sold on Importec's catalog has two of them. Can you confirm this? Also, I remember reading somewhere that I can tell the type of Turbo I have from a data plate somewhere on my car. Is this true?

Thanks!

The easiest way to tell is to look straight down on the turbo at the oil supply line connection. The water supply and return connections are on the sides of the turbo. If you see an oil connection line which looks like this,

you have a Garrett T3. The Mitsubishi turbos use a banjo fitting like is used on the water supply and return lines.

As the FAQ states, the Garrett T3 uses an external CBV mounted on the front of the engine head, and the large hose, which you mentioned, has a short little serpentine connection to the bottom of the external CBV.
