NEED A SCANTOOL FOR A 88 760 GLE ANY IDEAS

    Hello:

Unfortunately these cars did not have OBD, so there is no scan tool available for them. I have seen your previous posts, but there is no one thing that sticks in my head for how to diagnose this.

One idea is that after 3 minutes or so the engine should be sufficiently warm for the ECU to take inputs from the sensors. Could be a clue...

Other issues are heat build-up causing sensors/electronics to go intermittent-- chief suspects would be RPM sensor on bellhousing, ignition amplifier on driver's side fender, fuel injection relay in relay area on passenger side of console, and radio suppression relay on coolant recovery tank.

    Distant possibility- intermittent bad coil.

Really just thinking out loud here-- good luck!
