Should I do front seals with timing belt w/154k miles? 700 1989

I'm doing the timing belt because the previous owner did not have record of it being done on the 89 744 gle with B234F engine. The car has 154,000 miles. I did the timing belt on my simpler 86 745 gle with B230F engine when it had 200,000 miles, but I also did all 3 front engine oil seals. Do I need to consider doing the seals on this car with only 154,000 miles? They are not leaking now... And I don't want the job to be even more difficult than I already suspect it will be because of the 16 valve engine.
Thanks,
Nathan

    Yes. 700 1989

Simple answer, but long reason behind it.
    1. You don't know when the previous tb was done, so it's reasonable to assume the seals have never been done.
    2. 154K is a reasonable life for seals...replacing front seals is not hard when you're doing the tb anyway. Cheap insurance.

My mother tried to order the belt from the dealer, but he asked if the car had an automatic or manual tensioner. How can I tell without ripping the car open. It's an 89 744 with B234F and auto tranny.
    Thanks,
    Nathan

Look here. It says that manual belt tensioners were used up until early 1990 model year. Since yours is an 89, it's fairly safe to assume that it's a manual one. I would've thought the parts people at Clayton could've told you that...hahahahhaahhaha. Not that I don't like the parts people; just the whole dealership. ;)
