Rebuild kit for Cam Gear manual steering? 200

My '80 DL has manual steering by Cam Gear. It's a little clunky and I want to repair it.
VolvoWorld (with whom I have never done business) lists several of what are described as "Steering rack rebuild kit[s], for CAM rack." According to their info one must determine which kit is needed by an identifying number somewhere on the rack. The only number I can find is on the pinion housing and it bears no resemblance to the numbers given by VolvoWorld. I will have to look elsewhere on the rack for another number.

I guess it shouldn't be too hard to find but does anyone know where on the rack this number might be located?

Has anyone had any dealings with VolvoWorld? All I know is that they are in Canada.

Does anyone know if such a kit is available elsewhere? I can't find anything listed at the usual places.

I intend to contact VolvoWorld and ask what parts the kits consist of but I would like to be able to properly ID the rack first.

Those are probably seal kits for the power racks. This page might have some
information you can use for reference:

If you find repair parts for the manual rack, please post the info. I
need to repair the rack in my '78.

Rebuild kit for Cam Gear manual steering? 200

I have had no luck finding anything on the internet except for the entire rack and pinion unit which seems to be readily available.

Just for the hell of it I called the local Volvo dealer's parts department. The guy I talked to had a kit listed for Cam Gear manual steering. He read off the parts that were included and it sure sounds like the right animal. And it costs $243.80 (it can't contain more than a dozen parts, maybe there is a new pinion included, that might, in part, explain the high cost). It's probably exactly what I'm looking for. If I were actually going to buy it I would go and take a look to make sure. But I will be damned if I'll pay more for the kit than most people are getting for a remanufactured rack. There must be something available somewhere. I'll keep looking.

He also had individual parts, but no kit, for ZF racks.

The rack rebuilders must get their parts somewhere, but I've never managed to
track them down. At first I thought the right side inner tie rod was bad on my '78, but the problem seems to be play in the bushing where the rack
exits the housing. The Haynes manual covers replacement of the bushing,
and repair of the manual rack doesn't look all that difficult. All kinds
of bronze bushings or 'sleeve bearings' can be found on the web, but
the Cam bushing may not be a standard part.
