240 Auto/overdrive Switching Problem 200

How can I get into contact with this person (from post below) to find out what was his problem w/ his car. I have the EXACT same problem w/ my 83 244 GL. I can't see it would be the relay, because each time I push the button, I can hear it click and the car works awesome the first 10 minutes of driving. I have the AW-70 auto tranny. I've read all posts regarding this issue, but want to contact this person to find out what was the culprit for him.

Thanks,
Dale

My 1984 245 automatic has a balky overdrive. After driving for about 20 miles at 65 it will drop out of overdrive and refuses to re-engage. The red light on the dash, "O/D OFF" does not light, although it is working. There is plenty of fluid and the o/d switch is engaged. Could this be an electrical problem or do i need a new solenoid? How can i test?
Thanks for any and all help and advice.

You should be aware that just because the relay clicks it does not mean it's good. The problem that occurs with the relay is that the solder points for the current carrying contacts get old heat up and crack giving just the intermittent symptoms described.
    Resolder the relay or replace.
See 700/900 FAQ section for details and pictures, Similer for your 240.
