If I wanted to have my driver seat resown..do I remove it myself or let the shop sew it on the car. The shop was saying that it was hard to remove because it was electric seats. Isnt' there just 4 bolts that hold it in place. Anyone have any esperience with this...thanks...Jeffry

Removing seats are just as gholmer described...I would suggest one thing though. When you remove the seatbelt retracter that bolts to the side of the seat, use some type of spring clamp to keep the belt from retracting in. This will make reinstalling much easier. Once they retract in they can be very hard to get back out. You must hold them at the exact same position and angle as when thet are bolted to seat. Can be very frustrating. Good luck..

That sentence about the seat belt retractor wont make much sense. The 2 door has the main belt retractor in the pillar and the other end of the belt bolted near the floor...not to the seat like the 740 & 760.

The trick on the seats is knowing that both tracks have a pin on the bottom side that goes into a keyhole in the floor. After taking out the 4 bolts, you have to slide the seat back about 40mm (1.5") before the track/seat can be lifted out. And it's heavy.

Electric makes no difference, just unplug the multiplug, four bolts as you say. Move the seat backwards (with the frame) and then push it slightly inwards. This, like replacing the mirror glass, is one of those jobs which are hard the first time but when you've seen the system and how it works, it's a piece of cake. Having said that, if they are prepared to fix it with seat in car, why bother?
