Not to be too much of a wise guy, buy why would you want to lower it any more than it is? It is already so low to the ground that the air dam scrapes on parking lot dividers and other road debris. Are you trying for a California Low Rider version of an S90?

I understand your wiseness but the reason is that there is so much wheel well gap on my car that it doesn't look clean. The lines don't flow, Look at BMW, Mercedes and Audi. That's what I'm looking for. I'm sorry, I don't have that problem of scraping. I always stay clear of those things I approach questionable drives in an angle and those parking dividers are simple....stay clear! Can anyone help.

Talk to Peter Linssen over at MVP Volvo. He's doing some crazy stuff with a 960, including a sport suspension all around. A lot of custom work involved though.

S90 Front suspension S90-V90 1998

In Sweden, an original sports kit including springs and shocks has been offered for the 95-98 models. Part no 9134 930 (front w/auto trans), 9192 762 (sedan rear), 9192 763 (wagon rear). Rear shocks are nivomats. Unfortunately such parts aren't always sold in the US, check with your dealer. I btw can't find any lowering figures but the corresponding 940/740 kit lowered one inch. There also was a rear sway bar upgrade, part no 1343 274.

Thanks, this is great info. I didn't know of any mods for the 960 before.
I have felt that the 960 stock is as good as it gets, but some stiffer sway bar can help the body roll a bit. I would hate to mess up that beautiful smooth ride though, with stiffer shocks and springs. I found that the handling and feel of the car was vastly improved by some Pirelli P6000's instead of Michelins, and the 205-55/16 don't have much of a gap. It's all about the handling and ride isn't it? Great but smooth? How much stiffer is the ride if the lowering package is used?
Does anybody know if the Nivomats from a '94 965 are the same as a '96 960? Are they heavier duty for the wagon? I have a set of rear springs and Nivo's from a 964 that I thought I could use to firm up the rear end.
The B6304 engine has some great torque, but can use some more top end. I think the best mod for the 960 is re-chipping. Most of the chip guys don't have one for the n/a 960, but I found a place in Sweden that can do it for $300 if you send the ECU to them.
I'd rather do this mod and leave the suspension alone.

Nice Ride!

S90 Front suspension, Not too Low! S90-V90 1998

I checked into these upgrades to the 960/S/V90 and both the dealer and Volvocars of NA gave me a 'I dunno'. VCNA customer service was much less than accomodating.
I did fine two sources for the suspension, FCP Groton can order them and SAM will also get them. They are pricey, $350 for the front, $525 for the rear, and $150 for the rear sway bar. The car is lowered by 20 mm, so it is barely lowered from stock height. I didn't find anybody that had experience with the mods and if the ride quality is severly compromised.
I found the ECU upgrade from a couple of places in Sweden, giving from 15 to 35 hp improvement, and 50 to 20 ft/lbs torque improvement, costing from $300 to $550.
