Turn signal stuck on 900

The left turn signal on my 95 965 is stuck "on" with the light on solid. The right turn signal is behaving normally. This has happened before and would go away after shutting off the car and startng it back up. It's been this way for two days now.

I'm tempted to disconnect and reconnect the battery to see if this will reset the problem. Does anyone have any experience with this and is there an easier way around it?

Are you using daytime running lights? If so, check the bulb in the front turn signal/park lamp housing on the right. The bulb is a double fillament, with two contacts on the base, 1 for turn signal, 1 for the park lamp. These contacts can "melt" together, causing voltage backfeed. When the park lamp is lit, the shorted contacts at the bulb base re-routs the voltage from the park lamp through the turn signal circuit, causing the turn sig lamps and the dash indicator to light. Usually the repair consists of simply replacing the bulb.

Thanks Bob. That was the exact problem and all is now well with two new bulbs. I figured if one of the bulbs was bad, the other wasn't far behind
