Hi all...

Just received my new Nissens 3 row all metal radiator. It came without a plug for the threaded temp sensor hole.

I need to drive this car on Sat up to the Davis swapmeet and show. Anyone know what size bolt i can put in there until i get the plug from the vendor? Or any other fix for this.

I took quite a beating on the board for suggesting that a Nissens rad may be better than an OEM Volvo! There seem to be the volvo stalwarts, and those of us who know that a plastic cap on a rad just isn't a good idea! I need a new condenser for my 95 960, anyone here have any thoughts on this, and the connectors and fittings/trim?

Threaded temp sensor hole??

I don't think I have come across any that are threaded. They usually have a rubber grommet that goes in the radiator and then the sensor goes into the grommet. Some vendors put the grommet inside the radiator for safe keeping(?). Do you not have a rubber grommet or are you looking for something to plug the opening since you do not have sensor in the 200? If you have the grommet you could go to an auto supply store and look at the display that has replacement parts including oil plugs. I found one once at Advance Auto that was a perfect fit to get a 200 owner on the road again after his car had spit out whatever had been in the sensor opening.

Nissens radiators have threads. My 240 has a pastic plug, the 740 has the sensor screwed in.
BTW, there's a sealing washer for the sensor; the plastic plug doesn't appear to have one.

They told me that the replacement radiator will ship with the sensor installed.

Should include the washer.

McDuck..Vendor blew it....the radiator they sent me today was a Crane...not the Nissens I ordered...couldn't believe it.

Going to drive up with the old radiator.......see ya on Sunday?

Evidently the Nissens unit is supposed to ship with a plug or the AC ThermoSwitch. The unit I was shipped appeared to be in a non-Nissens box with less than perfect packing.

They are shipping me another unit from a different warehouse. This unit is being shipped with the AC Thermo switch. I just will leave it in, but not used.
