Best way to jack up my car? 200 1986

Due to a blown suspension and a difference in anatomy, I need to jack up my car for a simple oil change. Jack stands or ramps? What would assure that everything drains properly?
Sorry for the dumb questions and thanks?

Ramps are hard on the air dam. I have to scrounge up some 2 by 6 scraps to put in front of the ramps to prevent the air dam from dragging. I do mine from the drivers side behind the front wheel no ramps. You should be able to reach unless you have really short arms. The worst thing is the oil filter. It dumps oil all over the engine mount and the crossmember when you unthread it. I usually have lots of paper towel handy to clean up the crossmember so it does not drip on my driveway. If you don't have a turbo you should be able to get the filter from the top.

Either will work fine. The ramps tilt the car back and still allow oil to flow out. It is much easier to take it in for an oil change. I take them my own Mann filter and Mobil 1 oil and they only charge around $10.00. Check with them first. A lot easier than jacking around, crawling around under the car, disposing of oil, cleaning up etc, etc.

I would use the jack point, on one side of the car, lift the car,put a jack stand in for safety,, pull the plug, remove the stand, drop the car, let it drain, and repeat to reinstall the plug. It sounds like alot of jacking but by the sounds of it a little exercise might help with your "difference in anatomy" (unless we're talking breast augmentation). Cheers, Patrick
