Rear Tire rubbing 200 1982

Hi all,

My 82 242 has started doing the following:

Coming out of a driveway, turning right, there is arubbing from the right rear tire i believe.

Any ideas?

Check the panhard rod for bushing problems. If the car was towed recently (or ever?) the tow truck driver could have tied down on the panhard rod and bent it. In that case, you need a new one, and you have a valid claim against the towing company.
Either way it sounds like the axle is off to one side a bit too much- it doesn't take a lot of misalignment to rub the insides of the trunk.
The panhard rod, BTW is the long bar that runs parallel to the rear axle, behind it, that locates the axle side to side.
