Front cabin air intake snow cap 200

Hey all,

Picked up a Volvo snow cap kit, had it painted, and installed in minutes...looks great. However, two of the clips do not want to "snap" in, hence I'm afraid the two parts will become dislodged. I was thinking of using some type of adhesive or glue to put under the edges of each snow cap, but was wondering what kind would work best if anyone knows?
Thanks as always,
-Adam

Thanks all for your suggestions. Yes, all the clips it in correctly, but on each "cap" the outtermost clip won't click. I tried enlarging each clip so it would snap into the cap but to no avail. The all slide fine, so maybe it's a defect...I'll contact IPD.

    Best,
    Adam

I am having a similar problem with the cap from ipd, but with only one of the three clips. The other two do snap in fine. ipd has offered to exchange, but I'm considering carefully trimming the "tooth" on the offending clip to a deeper engagement position.

    Adam,

When I installed a set of covers on mine, I had to really force those plastic clips into the outer and inner most slotted openings. When they are on correctly, they should be able to move freely up and down the slotted openings. I'm assuming you got two of them on there correctly? Do you notice any difference between the ones you installed and the ones that won't fit?

I don't know if it will work on the snowcap but here's an idea. My son has a Ford Mustang. He installed a fake air scoop on the hood. The scoop is held bu two small bolts at the reae of the scoop and by two-sided tape at the front. So far it has stayed on. Maybe you can use this tape?

By the way, I'm thinking of getting one of these scoops to keep small leaves our of the air intake. Each Fall, I have to cover the opening when I park the car in the driveway.

    Sterndogg,
Maybe you are putting it on backwards... LOL... you should check out the "after market section" of the BrickBoard... I found an interesting post on the intake caps. Can the clips be carefully bent (with a rag over them or something)? Personally, I would glue it only as a last resort. But any good epoxy based glue found in your local home improvement center should be fine. Peace, Jon
