Nut and Bolt in spash guard/ what from? 200

I found nut bolt in my splash guard. It is about 1 1/2 long, with a 15mm flanged nut and a 14mm head. I can't find where it came from. I have not messed with anything serious under the hood for over a year. Any ideas where it came from?

I found a broken bolt and nut like that on my splash pan ('84 240). It was one of the mounting bolts for the AC compressor where it mounts to a rubber bushing. I have no idea how it got broken.

That is the combo used for the AC compressor mount brackets. Pretty common to find some dufus who replaces the AC compressor and decides there are too many mount bolts for his liking. I bet you have one missing.

Buff-man. I don't quite get you. Bolt to the engine block and adjuster. There is a big aluminum plate that holds the AC to the block, right? Then the brackets holding the compressor bolt to that plate. I am positive I have the bolts you need but I can't tell which they are. (Think of a few more things you need, then do teh finish on my flathood).

no its like a thin bent shaped peice metal. like a chevy alt bracket with a ford alt screw type adjuster deal. You know a long screw that when turned losens the alt. to get belt off. (In my case it is a/c) this is hooked to a chevy looking late 70s type alt bracket. This bracket goes to the block with one screw or bolt. im lol cause it dont look like it should but it reaches the block. Realy and there is a hole there on the block i dont think it goes to a plate it might. As the hood goes im going to be in your neck of the woods may 20 till? hopeing to work at a dealership carmax you said (last on resto list) right. Then we got time all i need to know is how much time and would this work for you ill take pic of engine and bracket and e-mail it to you if you want just email me so i have your email address as i delite them so not to bother people it dont look right but ill look tomarrow but this is the bracket like discribed thanks
