Changing fuel pumps, which hoses and clamps should I change? 200 1986

After getting stuck last weekend for the first time in this car with a fuel delivery problem, and then testing the pumps, I've decided to change both pumps, the sock, the filter, and the pressure regulator(purchaced all of the parts from FPC Groton for around $250). After driving this great car for 17 years and 226K miles, I feel it is a good investment in maintaining its reliability. I have good information from Bentley and this board on changing these parts(I have never changed any of these parts before). I am looking for some advice on what fuel line hoses, clamps or other parts I should change during the installation. Just trying to get prepared.

    Changing fuel pumps, which hoses and clamps should I change? 200 1986

    The likely fuel system problems in this car are 1) fuel relay 2) 25 amp fuse and 3) the hose in the in-tank pump line. If it is the main pump, just remove the hoses, catching the fuel spill and take teh pump, filter and bracket out as a unit. Work on it at the bench. For the in-tank, one hose will be clamped and another will be a short hose heat shrunk to the pump pipe. For this one, there is a joint under the car above the axle (14 and 15 mm nuts, maybe a 16) that you can separate. Leave it attached to the pump pipe. To extract the assembly from the tank, after dealing with the bung nut (I used a big screwdriver and hammer before I got the IPD tool) twist and turn the unit as you withdraw it, and you will find a way it fits. This can take some learning to master. If you replace the hose section inside the tank do so only if it is cracked, and use the most fuel resistant grade of hose. Simple fuel hose will swell over time and loosed and create a broken hose effect. I've seen a few cars with cheap hose that failed. The OEM hose is great but where to get it on a budget?
