stall upon start-up 91 240 wagon 200

First thing in the morning, my car seems to start fine. the rest of the day, if i don't give it a lot of gas, it stalls. it always turns over and once i start driving it is fine - no problems at stoplights etc... sometimes i have to keep my foot on the accellerator put my other foot on the brake and put it in drive to get going. could it be as simple as my car idling too low? could it be some sort of blockage in the fuel line? i've recently had -- dist cap, rotor, ignition wire, air filter, fuel filter, spark pugs, oil filter -- all replaced. (in fact i didn't notice the problem before that) -- help

I agree with richink, sounds like the IAC. Some folks have had success pulling it and cleaning it with spray carb cleaner. While you're under the hood, also check the intake snorkel (between AMM and throttle body) for leaks, especially on the underside. If you jostled the AMM to open up the air filter box, that may be all it took to open up a small crack in the snorkel. Also, you may have not fully seated the snorkel on the downstream side of the AMM.

    Hey Julie,

I would suspect either the Idle Air Control valve or the Air Mass Meter. Check wiring and connections for both. Pop over to the local pick and pull for some replacements if that does nothing.

    Happy Bricking!!!
