three speed to four speed 200

I've got an 90 model 760 turbo with the four speed auto. I know that there is supposed to be a better torque converter in the turbo, than the one in the non-turbo cars. Will the transmission out of the 760 fit in my '81 240 without switching out the driveshaft on my 240 or will I need to find a drive shaft from a 4 speed auto 240 car?

You'll need a donor driveshaft. Also, you may need to redrill the rear mounting holes in the frame "rails", as the BW55's are shorter than the AW70/71's. Rear tailcone and mount will need to be swapped, along with a speedo output, as the later cars had electronic speedo's.

Other stuff to swap ... dipstick tube is different between the two, and tranny cooler lines to the radiator may have changed. It may not route the same otherwise ... though that does make an excuse to get a Mangefine filter (iPd) and an auxiliary transmission cooler (AutoZone, etc.). No need the giant ones ... the little one works fine enough, and includes the fitting that's a match for the radiator.

Remember to change the rear crank seal on the engine!
