Fuel Pump Replacement/Fuel Sender 900 1995

I have just had my fuel pump replaced in my 945t, but now my fuel gauge reads empty and low level light come on way to early, with 5+ gallons remaining. What are the possible causes? I'm wondering if the pump assy is for an earlier model. Thanks, Gabespar.

On replacing the module, the fuel level sensor jammed at the bottom. You need to make sure it fits in the recess in the tank and is free to move up and down.

Thanks..I wasn't very clear in my question. The fuel gauge does rise, although much, much slower, and the low level light comes on about 5 gallons sooner. Thus I have over 100 miles less per tank.
