Water leak from sunroof crank 700 1989

My 740 had this leak and it stopped when I finally found the cause of the leaking sunroof.
Mine turned out to be the rails on which the roof slides not being sealed to the body. I took out the screws holding the rails to the body lifted the rails
slightly, and injected a bead of silcon RTV sealer then screwed it down again.
No sign of a leak in last 8 months despite some very heavy rain and several car wash visits.
