Spring's 'hot' Tipic- A/C 200

I am contemplating an R134A Conversion. Has anyone tried the Scantech kit that FCP Groton has? It says it has everything (seals, decals, oil, labels) that one needs Don't I need a new drier though? Is the Drier I need special to R134A or can I use the ones that FCP has? Is a new expansion valve needed or is that optional? Thanks much

You need the dryer and exp valve (or orifice depending on year/model).

It's not as simple as some conversion kits indicate. Do it right or you will destroy your compressor (big $).

You need to pull out the compressor and condenser, remove all old oil and refill the compressor.

Replace the exp valve, dryer, then shop evacuate and refill. Hope no leaks.

I'll be starting mine very soon.

You do need a new drier and replacing the orifice valve is a good idea too. The OEM Volvo kit is a good buy, especially from www.borton.com
