Stiff throttle on 960 900 1995

The throttle on my 1995 960 (68k mi) has become very stiff. I checked and spray lubed the linkages, cables, etc. It helped a little, but not much. The car runs and idles fine, but the stiff pedal does affect performance. Any way to tell if its throttle cable, throttle body, etc.?

    Stiff throttle on 960 900 1995

More than likely it is the "spool" device that changes the motion from the cable pull to the TB linkage. It is under the plastic cover where the cruse control and throtle cable disapear. It probably needs to be cleaned and perhaps given a little bit of oil. (If it were the cabe it would probably hold the throtle open when you take your foot off the pedal.)

If you aren't sure you are qualified to mess with this, I wouldn't. A sticking throtle can be really dangerous. In fact if I were a lawyer I would add paragraphs that disclaim all responsibility for giving any advice here. Get it fixed ASAP.

Disconnect the cable and operate both the throttle and the gas pedal. One, or both, will be stiff.
